Reston Interfaith Housing Corporation
Reston Interfaith has worked for more than 30 years to combat the considerable challenges of the lack of affordable housing in Northern Virginia. Our subsidiary, Reston Interfaith Housing Corporation (RIHC), owns 40 townhouses throughout Reston and Herndon that are rented at affordable rates to residents who earn half or less of the area median income. Please click here to view a list of the RIHC Board of Directors.
RIHC also owns 48 apartments in Reston's North Point neighborhood, serving working families who pay well under market-rate rents. For more information on these apartments, please visit Bozzuto's NorthPoint Apartments website.
On November 20, 2008, RI and the RIHC H.O.U.S.E. Housing First Program was selected as the second-place winner in the “Property and Asset Management” category of the Enterprise MetLife Foundation Awards for Excellence in Affordable Housing. The awards program recognizes 501(c)(3) community-based or regional nonprofit organizations and Tribes or Tribally Designated Housing Entities that excel in property and asset management and provide housing to people with special needs. RI/RICH will receive a $30,000.00 grant.
To help us preserve and develop housing that is affordable for our neighbors, or for more information about ways to help maintain our housing through volunteer efforts, please contact Tim McMahon, Vice President for Housing and Community Development.
